Tumblr Post #10

As a member of my group, I am playing the main girl in our movie. I am also helping with editing as much as I can and giving different ideas as to how we can expand on our film or use different ways of capturing a scene to make it more realistic as opposed to cheesy. Our group is doing an amazing job at putting together this film and incorporating everyone’s idea into one huge one that has a little bit of everything.

Response Letter to Partner Review

Dear Ewan,

The paper is about the idea of having digital literacy integrated into classrooms. I believe that it is a great way to explain the necessity of technology and how we can incorporate it into classrooms and expand those that already have migrated to that idea. I think that the topic you are choosing is very interesting and very in the now, simply because technology has become such a conflicting topic amongst teachers, students, etc.

To answer your question, I believe that you could make them stronger by finding connections, even if they are minor and strengthening them by going off that. I would also encourage possibly even using the fact that students or people are using them to explain their view points on technology and expand on that with an article.

Literature Review Paper Cover Letter

Dear Ewan,

I feel that my main point of this paper is the idea that technology is becoming our main source of life. We use it to communicate with people, shop online; do work outside of the office, etc. It has become our main source of living and has even been able to improve the quality of our lives. The point I have made most successfully is the idea that technology has just become an essential part of our lives and that we now feel dependent on it rather than it just being a luxury as it was meant to be in the beginning. I feel that my elaborations on the articles I have chosen are still in need of some work so that is where my focus is going to be on for my next draft. The organization of my paper I believe is understandable, the main idea is clearly stated throughout the paper, but is repeated too often at times so I will be cleaning up that area of the paper to make my statement known, but not repetitive. My main focus that I would concentrate on if I were to do another revision today would be citing my sources and elaborating more on the articles I have chosen. The question I would like answered is “Is my paper coming to be too cookie-cutter? If so, what could I do to make it stand out more?”.

Quick Write #4

  • I need to find 2 more articles that connect with how the media helps spread information about problems all around the world and how we can unite the nations together
  • I need to go back to previous articles I have and make sure that the sources are cited properly
  • I need to set aside at least 2 hours in the next two days to write the paper
  • Make sure that there isn’t any repetition of my ideas and that they are stated clearly

-The “Great Project of Generation” is that we get this generation to actually make a difference. That we bring others the facts of whats going on around the world and show them that we can make a difference. To unite everyone to be able to conquer the nation problems TOGETHER.

-Yes, because I feel that even though there aren’t many who actually get up and do something, by them talking about it, posting it on Facebook or any other popular source of media and getting the problem known by others, they are making it known that something wrong is happening and that we could do something to stop it. Just as long as we had the drive to make something happen.

-The technology we have today make it easier to communicate between people, and they also make it easier for information to spread like wild-fire. Take KONY 2012 for example, not many people knew what that was but with just a week of people posting about it 24/7 on Facebook, Twitter, etc. It has become one of the most popular campaign for this generation. Simply by talking about it, getting it known to others and making them curious enough to go an do research on it simply opens their eyes to the situations that are going on around us that we aren’t necessarily aware of. The web can give knowledge that isn’t always handed to us on a sliver platter.

-What I found interesting was that he used deep topics and stories to bring across such an intense message that translated into uniting everyone to bring down the serious altercations that not only our nation but others are going through.

- This to me means that they are a constant growth. It will continue to become something more than what it is just seen as. It “evolves” and some what mutates into something else that was created by someone and their imagination.
-He connects the study of genetics to memes by saying how they grow and evolve into something else. How combining two different ideas can easily create a new and different creation that makes itself stand out, just like our genes, our physical appearances are different because of the combination of things that made us.
-“Like them, they tend to perpetuate their structure and to breed; they too can fuse, recombine, segregate their content; indeed they too can evolve, and in this evolution selection must surely play an important role.”
“Memes propagate themselves in the meme pool by leaping from brain to brain via a process which, in the broad sense, can be called imitation,”
